摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high PTF value target material which can be used efficiently during magnetron sputtering to a soft magnetic alloy for a perpendicular magnetic recording medium having excellent saturation magnetic-flux density, amorphous property and weather resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The alloy target material for a soft magnetic film layer for the perpendicular magnetic recording medium is characterized in that it includes one or more of Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, B and the balance being Co, Fe and inevitable impurities, and satisfies a formula (1):0.20&le;Fe/(Fe+Co)&le;0.50 (at% ratio) and a formula (2):5 at%&le;(Zr+Hf+Nb+Ta)+B/2&le;10 at%, wherein the B content is not more than 7% and a relative density is 99% or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
