FIELD: physics, communications.SUBSTANCE: provided is a vibrator, having a small size, low frequency and high Q value. The vibrator includes a base area in which there are a pair of cuts and a pair of vibrating arms which continue in parallel from one end face of a first area of the base area. Each vibrating arm includes a common area which is the main vibrating area, and weighted area which is formed on the upper end face of the vibrating arm on the opposite side of the base of the vibrating arm attached to the base area and which has a larger width than the common area. The vibrating arm reaches the bottom of an elongated groove which has a hole at least along one main surface from both main surfaces of each vibrating arm, and a weighted area which is formed on the upper end face of the vibrating arm on the opposite side of the base of the vibrating arm attached to the base area and which has a larger width than that of the vibrating arm on the side of the base attached to the base area. The weighted area is formed such that the ratio of the length of the weighted area to the length from the base which is attached to the base area to the upper end face in the longitudinal direction of the vibrating arm ranges from 35% to 41%.EFFECT: maintaining operating stability at low frequencies.24 cl, 6 dwg |
