<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine that accurately estimates a blow-by quantity of fresh air. <P>SOLUTION: Cylinder internal air mass is calculated by multiplying the cylinder volume by cylinder internal intake density (S11). The cylinder trap suction air volume is calculated by using the cylinder internal air mass calculated in S11, an engine rotating speed and the intake cylinder number per rotation (S12).
