INTERIOR BUILDING MATERIAL AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME

Provided is an interior building material which can keep removing an odor through physical or chemical absorption and can control indoor humidity and which is friendly to indoor environment and combines two functions, namely, deodorization and humidity control. The interior building material is obtained by: pressing a raw material which comprises clay, slaked lime, a porous ceramic powder, a metal oxide and water; and subjecting the obtained pressed material to carbonation reaction and low-temperature firing successively to form a solid body having a sufficient strength.
