The system has a lubricant pump (5) sucking-off a lubricant i.e. oil, from a lubricant tub (4) for supplying a combustion engine (1) with the lubricant. A lubricant collection container (6) collects the lubricant that is passed back from the engine to the lubricant tub. Another lubricant pump (7) sucks-off the collected lubricant via a lubricant spacer (8) from the container back into the lubricant tub. The container is arranged such that that a geodetic return of the collected lubricant into the lubricant tub through a lubricant return-flow pipe (9) is enabled.
