<p>The invention relates to the use of a composition containing titanium and iron compounds, in particular decomposition residue that accumulates as a production residue after the sulphate process during the production of titanium dioxide, as an adsorbing agent for inorganic and organic compounds, for example compounds containing phosphorus, arsenic, antimony, sulphur, selenium, tellurium, the cyano group and heavy metal. The invention also relates to methods for removing toxic substances and pollutants from a fluid using said adsorbing agent, to methods for producing the adsorbing agent and to adsorbing agents that can be obtained using these methods.</p> |
