<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of efficiently performing retry required because of a reading failure in a spin-up process intended for BDXL. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device includes an optical pickup and a signal generation part for generating a control signal from an electric signal. The optical disk device has a main control part for controlling the optical pickup to emit a light beam by a light emission power for multilayer disks having three or more layers when determining that an optical disk is a multilayer disk having three or more layers in a spin-up process of the optical disk and succeeding in acquiring address information from the optical disk. When determining that the optical disk is a multilayer disk in the spin-up process, succeeding in acquiring the address information, and failing to acquire disk information, the main control part controls the optical pickup to retry the acquisition of the disk information by the light emission power for multilayer disks having three or more layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
