<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network router which connects network nodes within a ring network for transferring frames of data within the network. <P>SOLUTION: The network router has a plurality of network ports which provide a physical interface to the network nodes. The network router further has a routing processor which is connected to the network ports. The routing processor is configured for receiving and transmitting frames at the same time.
