The invention relates to a method for producing connection ports on the outer periphery of thin-walled components made of sheet steel, in particular, on components of exhaust gas systems for internal combustion engines. The connection ports are directly incorporated into said component by locally deforming the sheet steel. The aim of the invention is to provide a method which is advantageous with respect to the manufacturing technology. As a result, platines (10) are prefabricated as tailored blanks having local material thicknesses (10b) and/or different material properties in the region of the connection ports (12) and are subsequently shaped to form the component (14). |
