A cavity (3) is formed by: forming a first junction surface (11) and a recessed first interfitting surface (12) on a fixed mold (1); forming on a movable mold (2), a second junction surface (21) that joins with the first junction surface (11) and a protruding second interfitting surface (22) that fits into the first interfitting surface (12) when the mold is clamped; and providing a recessed part in the bottom surface of the first interfitting surface (12). Positioning of the fixed mold (1) and the movable mold (2) is thereby accomplished by the joining of the first junction surface (11) with the second junction surface (21) and the interfitting of the first interfitting surface (12) with the second interfitting surface (22), eliminating the need for providing guide pins for the positioning and making it possible for the size of the device to be that much smaller. Moreover, the size reduction reduces the heat capacities of the fixed mold (1) and the movable mold (2) and makes it possible to reduce the consumption of power needed for temperature control.
