An image pickup device disclosed by the present invention is provided with: a movable lens unit, which includes at least one lens that collects light transmitted from a subject, and a lens holder that supports the one lens; a main body base; a main body base, which supports the movable lens unit such that the movable lens unit can move in the first direction and the second direction that orthogonally intersect each other on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of at least one lens, and in the third direction parallel to the optical axis of at least the one lens; an image pickup element, which is supported by means of the main body base, and converts light into electrical signals, said light having passed through the movable lens unit; a drive mechanism, which is provided on the movable unit and/or the main body base, and drives the movable lens unit in the first, second and third directions; and a plurality of distortion detecting elements which are provided between the movable unit and the main body base.
