PURPOSE: A solar cell substrate having a multi-layer metal diffusion barrier layer and a solar cell using the same are provided to effectively prevent diffusion of impurities by forming a metal diffusion barrier layer having a multi layer structure. CONSTITUTION: A solar cell substrate comprises a bottom electrode(30) and a multi layer metal diffusion barrier layer(20). The bottom electrode is formed on a lower substrate and an upper part of the lower substrate. The diffusion barrier layer comprises two or more metal layers between the lower substrate and the bottom electrode. The two or more metal layers are made of different metal materials.
