<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator including a space capable of quickly freezing food and drink which is separated from a refrigeration compartment or a freezing compartment. <P>SOLUTION: The refrigerator includes a body provided with a first storage compartment, a door for opening/closing the first storage compartment, a heat exchange chamber provided inside the body, an evaporator that is housed in the heat exchange chamber, a second storage compartment that is provided on one side of the first storage compartment and is kept at a temperature lower than the temperature of the first storage compartment, a drawer assembly housed in the second storage compartment, and a rapid cooling module that is configured to directly exchange heat with a refrigerant piping of the evaporator, for cooling the interior of the second storage compartment. The rapid cooling module includes: a heat conduction unit that comes in direct contact with the refrigerant piping in such a manner as encloses at least a part of the refrigerant piping; and a heat transfer element which is so connected that, when supplying electric current, a heat generation surface exchanges heat with the heat conduction unit, with a heat absorbing surface facing the second storage compartment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
