摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining excellent image transfer by controlling transfer voltage within a prescribed range even when AC voltage is applied to a separation antistatic member of a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes; an image carrier 10 for carrying a toner image; a transfer member 18 for holding and conveying a recording medium S together with the image carrier 10; transfer voltage application means 20 for applying bias voltage to the transfer member 18; voltage control means 21 for performing a constant voltage control on the transfer voltage application means 20; transfer contribution current detection means 22 for detecting current contributing to the transfer of the toner image from the image carrier 10 to the recording medium S; an antistatic member 30 for eliminating static electricity charged in the recording medium S; and antistatic voltage application means 31 for applying AC voltage to the antistatic member 30. In the image forming apparatus, the transfer contribution current detection means 22 detects transfer contribution current for a current detection time corresponding to an integral multiple of a period of AC voltage to be applied to the antistatic member 30, and the voltage control means 21 controls the bias voltage to be applied to the transfer member 18 so that the transfer contribution current detected by the transfer contribution current detection means 22 falls within a prescribed range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
