<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect failure by lowering of the meshing ratio in a wave motion gear reduction gear mechanism, by using actuator torque. <P>SOLUTION: When keeping the engine compression ratio constant in a state of operating an internal combustion engine (S11), a driving current of a driving motor is detected by an electric current sensor (S12), and when this electric current value is the driving current or more of the driving motor required for keeping the engine compression ratio constant in a state of causing no internal abrasion of the wave motion gear reduction gear mechanism (S13), it is determined that lowering of the meshing ratio of internal teeth and external teeth in the wave motion gear reduction gear mechanism, and the failure by the internal abrasion is caused in the wave motion gear reduction gear mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
