<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for a cigarette or pipe, capable of detoxifying components truly harmful for smokers, whereas a conventional harmful matter-absorbing (removing) fibrous material attached to an end of a cigarette or pipe does nothing but just makes smokers feel better. <P>SOLUTION: The present inventor has found that a wide variety of harmful matter in cigarette smoke can be systematically detoxified. Among such harmful matter under study, CO which is reductive harmful matter and strongly toxic to the human body is efficiently made into CO2 with an oxidation catalyst which is non-toxic and inexpensive. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
