The embodiments of the invention provide an interference coordination method and a base station thereof. The method comprises: determining the invasion cell base station and the interference level of invasion cell base station, and receiving the power coordination information sent by the invasion cell base station, wherein the power coordination information indicates the power adjustment margin of the invasion cell base station on the specific channel resources or indicates the minimum transmission power of the invasion cell base station on the specific channel resources; determining the base station that needs the interference coordination in the invasion cell base station according to the interference level of the invasion cell base station and the power coordination information; sending the power adjustment request to the base station that needs the interference coordination to adjust the transmission power on the specific channel resources. The embodiments of the invention reduce the interference to the victim cell base station on the specific channel resources, and in the mean time the invasion cell base station can still use the specific channel resources to perform service transmission, and increase the system capacity.
