<p>A device for loosening and untying knots (10) including a body (12) having a first section (20) and a second section (28) having a plurality of channels (38), a pusher rod (64) positioned slidably within the first section (20) of the body (12), a shaft (46) positioned slidably within the first and second sections (20, 28) of the body (12) and being engaged with the rod (64), and a plurality of prongs (74), each including a base (76), a nose (102) and a rail (86). The rails (86) slidably fit into the channels (38) of the body (12), and a head (50) of the shaft (46) is engaged with the bases (76) of the prongs (74). The prongs (74) move between a retracted position, in which the noses (102) are juxtaposed with one another and inserted within a knot (108), and an expanded position, in which the noses (102) are spaced apart from one another when the shaft (46) is moved within the body (12), the noses (102) loosen and untie the knot (108) when the prongs (74) are expanded.</p> |
