The method involves applying quick hardening and smoothing modeling gel (4) e.g. UV-cured modeling gel, which is suitable for a nail model layer, on a nail plate surface (2) of a natural nail plate (1a) in an initial step. A nail plate surface strip (1c) is recessed at a free nail plate end (1b). The gel is pressed from the uncovered nail plate surface strip in a direction towards a nail plate center by a plastic-sliding tool, and cured. A smile-line and/or arc shaped contour is processed in the gel for forming a smile-line in course of pressing the gel towards the nail plate center. An independent claim is also included for a sliding tool.
