<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method that can accurately evaluate a collecting quantity of PM stored in a DPF. <P>SOLUTION: The particulate matter storage quantity measuring method includes propagating ultrasonic waves generated by a transmitter 3 provided directly to the DPF or outside a vessel and a heat insulation material 6 having a property of propagating the ultrasonic waves, measuring the quantity of the PM stored in the DPF 2 installed in the middle of an exhaust pipe 1 of a diesel engine and made of porous ceramics, by a receiver 4, and determining the storage quantity of the PM based on the result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
