<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching a malodor inhibitor by using as a marker the response of an olfactory receptor. <P>SOLUTION: The searching method includes: a step of adding a test substance and a causative substance for the malodor to either one olfactory receptor chosen from OR5P3, OR5K1, and OR8H1; a step of measuring the response of the olfactory receptor to the causative substance; a step of identifying the test substance capable of inhibiting the response of the olfactory receptor, based on the measured response; and a step of choosing the identified test substance as a malodor inhibitor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
