<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device allowing a different pair to operate both in high speed/high current consumption and in low speed/low current consumption without increasing the layout area. <P>SOLUTION: A differential circuit 5a comprises a different pair of transistors N1 and N2, and a tail current source 68 that supplies a tail current switchable so that the amount of current flowing through the different pair of transistors N1 and N2 is switched in at least two levels. The different pair of transistors N1 and N2 have characteristics in which the value of σ (ΔI/gm) monotonically decreases with decreasing a current flowing through the different pair of transistors N1 and N2, where σ is the standard deviation, ΔI is the difference of the amount of current flowing through the different pair of transistors N1 and N2, and gm is the transconductance of the different pair of transistors N1 and N2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
