<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermal head having high heating efficiency and stable quality at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal head 1 includes a heat storage layer 10 made of a glass material, an insulating substrate 9 consisting of the heat storage layer 10 for supporting the heat storage layer 10 and same glass material, a recessed portion 16 formed on at least one of the heat storage layer 10 and the insulating substrate 9, a cavity portion 17 formed by joining the heat storage layer 10 and the insulating substrate, and a heating resistor layer 13 disposed at a position opposed to the cavity portion 17. The heat storage layer 10 and the insulating substrate 9 are joined by irradiating the heat storage layer 10 with a femtosecond laser from above the top face in the state that each remains in a close contact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
