<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fouling failure due to scattering of molten slag through a gas outlet of a furnace body when the gas flow rate in the furnace body is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The gasification furnace includes: a cylindrical furnace body 2; an upper burner group 3 disposed at an upper portion of the furnace body 2 and injecting a mixed fluid of solid hydrocarbon fuel powder and oxidizing agent; and a lower burner group 4 disposed at a lower portion of the furnace body 2 and jetting a mixed fluid of solid hydrocarbon fuel powder and an oxidizing agent. A gas outlet 5 for discharging a product gas is formed at the upper end of the furnace body 2, and a molten slag outlet 7 for discharging molten slag is formed at the lower end of the furnace body 2. The ratio Dout/D of the diameter of the gas outlet 5 (Dout) to the diameter of the furnace body 2 (D) is set to 1>Dout/D≥0.4, and the ratio Du/D of an ideal swirl flow diameter (Du) formed by each burner of the upper burner group 3 to the diameter of the furnace body 2 (D) is set to 0.9>Du/D. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
