<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely, simply and easily peel an upper winding tape without damaging a coated optical fiber in a slot groove when applying a cutting tool such as a nipper to the upper winding tape to cut the upper winding tape. <P>SOLUTION: An optical cable 11 is formed by winding an upper winding tape 15 around a spacer 12 which has a slot groove 14 for storing a plurality of coated optical fibers 13, and covering the outside thereof with a sheath 16, and the upper winding tape 15 is formed of a transparent or translucent material. Thereby, the state of the spacer 12 becomes visible from the outside, with the upper winding tape 15 wound around the spacer 12. When a worker cuts the upper winding tape 15 using a cutting tool such as a nipper in a mid-span access operation, the worker can surely apply the cutting tool to a part of a rib 17 and cut the upper winding tape 15 without damaging the coated optical fiber 13 or the like in the slot groove 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
