The component has a damping element i.e. cylindrical elastomeric bearing (20), with an inner part, an outer part and an elastomer part (23), which is provided between the inner part and the outer part. A housing surrounds the damping element along radial direction, and is partially made of a plastic material. The housing is directly and positively connected with the outer part of the damping element. The inner part and/or the outer part of the damping element are made of a metal material e.g. aluminum or steel. The outer part comprises a stiffening element that is made of the metal material. The inner part of the damping element is designed as an inner metal ring (21). The outer part of the damping element is designed as a closed outer metal ring (25). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a chassis component.
