<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superhard alloy having excellent impact resistance and wear resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The superhard alloy comprises: 55-94.8 vol% of a WC phase based on the whole superhard alloy; 1-30 vol% of a carbonitride phase comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of at least one carbonitride selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo and W, and mutual solid solutions thereof, based on the whole superhard alloy; and 4.2-22.2 vol% of a bonding phase including as a main component, at least one selected from the group consisting of Co, Ni and Fe, based on the whole superhard alloy, wherein the total of the WC, carbonitride and bonding phases is 100 vol%. The average grain size of the WC phase is 0.05-0.8 μm and that of the carbonitride phase is 0.03-1.1 μm. The ratio (DB/DP) of the density DB of the superhard alloy measured by a gas substitution method to the density DP of the alloy powders pulverized to the size passing through a sieve having the opening of 75 μm is ≥0.95. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
