<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open a toilet cover by operating naturally without touching a toilet seat. <P>SOLUTION: The toilet cover of the western-style toilet includes a support on an outer edge of the front of the toilet lid 3. The support 5 is a projecting edge having a constant thickness projecting by a constant projection length in substantially parallel to the top surface of the toilet lid 3 within the range of a rising height of a rib 4 formed on the outer edge of the toilet lid 3, and a chevron outer shape of the support is edged with a gentle curved edge to be adapted to the design or shape of the toilet lid 3. A viewing window 6 is opened in a surface of the projecting edge.
