<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate assembling of components to reduce the time required therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In this recoil starter, a reel support shaft 3 is arranged in the center of a starter case 2 installed in an engine side housing 1, a rope reel 5 is rotated by extracting a recoil rope 7 from the rope reel 5 rotatably arranged around the reel support shaft 3, and an engine is started by transmitting the torque to a driving pulley 13 joined to the engine side.
