The heat exchanger has a heat exchanger block (7) provided with a meander-shaped base body (8), where two flow channels for two fluids are provided in the meander-shaped base body. The front ends of each of two adjacent walls of the meander-shaped base body are sealed together to seal the respective flow channels. The open sides of the latter flow channel are provided with a cover (6), where the two flow channels are connected to each other. The front ends of the adjacent walls are plastically deformed, particularly crimped or folded.
