This polarizing plate is provided with a polarizing film and a protective film disposed on one surface of the polarizing film. The protective film has a polypropylene resin as a main component and the Hayes value is 1% or less. The polarizing plate is used in the liquid crystal display device, disposed such that the order is the protective film then the polarizing film from the side closest to the liquid crystal cells.
