<p>Provided is a PTC device in which high rated current and/or rated voltage can be secured. This PTC device has a plurality of layered PTC elements layered via insulating layers and has a first end part and a second end part. In each PTC element, the PTC element is prescribed by a first main surface and a second main surface that face each other and has the first end part and second end part as terminal ends, and a first layer shaped electrode is disposed on the first main surface and a second layer shaped electrode disposed on the second main surface. The PTC device has a first side electrode that is common to the plurality of PTC elements in the first end part and a second side electrode that is common to the plurality of PTC elements in the second end part. The first layer shaped electrode for each PTC device extends to the first end part, and the second layer shaped electrode extends to the second end part. As a result, the plurality of PTC elements is connected in parallel between the first side electrode and the second side electrode. The plurality of PTC elements are layered such that the first layer shaped electrode on one outermost part is positioned as the outermost first electrode and the second layer shaped electrode on the other outermost part is positioned as the outermost second electrode. A first conductive element is positioned on the outside of the outermost first electrode, and a second conductive element is positioned on the outside of the outermost second electrode.
