PURPOSE: A routing table verifying device of a backup router and a method thereof are provided to supply routing information within a routing table of a backup router in an internet environment having a duplex routing structure. CONSTITUTION: A routing information collecting unit(10) collects routing information within a routing table of a main router. An IP(Internet Protocol) address extracting unit(20) extracts a gateway IP address by IP class band from routing information collected from the routing information collecting unit. A controlling unit(30) controls a backup router in order to transmit a packet to the gateway IP address extracted from the IP address extracting unit. The controlling unit verifies whether the routing table of the backup router is normal. A backup router connecting unit(40) is connected to the backup router according to the control of the controlling unit.
