The vacuum gripper has a suction port (18) that is clamped by a tube section (16) to form a suction section (15), where a convex surface (4) that is distanced from the suction section around an annular outlet (7) is arranged in a distance to the suction port. The annular outlet is connected with compressed air connection (12) through an inlet channel (8), such that central tube (1) is longitudinally displaced in a recess of tube portion, until the first contact surface resting against second contact surface of tube section. The convex surface is adjoined by a portion of central channel (2) in an axial section, which is widened to first opening (5) opposite to second opening (6). An independent claim is included for method for transporting or holding products.
