A display management system based upon an operatorâ s stress level is comprised of a biosensor outputting its readings of the operatorâ s mental state to a biomonitor 20 coupled to an operational display control 22. The biomonitorâ s software uses the biosensor information in conjunction with threshold values to generate modifications to the display 22 content. Display modifications may take the form of removing unnecessary display content in times of stress or may involve presenting a series of tasks for the operator to execute during periods of drowsiness. As well as the possibility of using a neuro-headset 12 to read brain waves, other sensors to read heart-rate 14, perspiration, respiration and eye movement 16 may also be used to assess thresholds of stress or possibly drowsiness. The system may be applied in an aircraft cockpit and the biomonitor may activate vibrator 26 or other aural or physical stimulus to wake the pilot where detecting thresholds of sleep is included.
