<p>A magazine 200 for dispensing at least one band (106) onto the tip of a haemorrhoid ligator (100) is disclosed. The magazine 200 comprises at least one expander, which receives a respective band, expands it and pushes it onto the tip of the ligator as the tip is inserted into the magazine 200. Preferably the magazine 200 comprises a plurality of expanders. Each expander may comprise an expansion cone 210 and a band feeder 208, which may comprise a plurality of resilient prongs 208a with feet 209. Each prong 208a rests against, and is deflected by, the outer surface 216 of the expansion cone as the tip is inserted into the magazine. Alternatively, the feeder may comprise a plate (408a), which slides with respect to a slot (420) in the expansion cone (410). The plate (408a) has an end which engages with the band as it is pushed.</p> |
