A display banner or sign comprises a translucent white front substrate sheet 10 on which an image 11 is printed. The substrate 10 is substantially sealed around its periphery 13 to a backing sheet 14 to define a pocket 15 in which an electroluminescent light emitting panel 16 is disposed. Some regions 12 of the substrate 10 are unprinted and are aligned by the seal with light emitting regions 18 of the panel. In use, the regions 18 are energised to emit light and the emitted light passes through the unprinted regions 12 to partially illuminate selected regions of the image 11. |
