Web based system for cross-site personalisation

A system for configuring distributed network content in real time comprises a network, a plurality of user terminals 101 and at least first 103 and second 104 servers, all being connected to the network. The first server 103 stores network content and distributes it according to network requests of remote user terminals 101. Each user terminal 101 communicates data representative of user interaction with at least a portion of the network content to the second server 104, at which it is stored. The second server 104 processes the stored data into respective network content â configuring data for each user terminal and the first server103 distributes next network content to each user terminal 101 according to the respective network content â configuring data received from the at least second server 104. Data representative of user interaction may be any or all selected from the group: network address selections, network content navigation, alphanumerical data inputs, network content updating rate, human interface input. In an alternative embodiment a system for personalised website browsing includes means for interfacing a third party personalisation service 105 with individual websites.
