A shoe sole 10 comprising a support 30 and a grip portion 34 mounted to rotate relative to the support 30 about a point corresponding, in use, to a wearers forefoot; and a biasing means 54 and a limiting means 52 to bias the grip portion 34 towards a first position, and to limit the extent of rotation of the grip portion 34 from the said first position, respectively. The point of rotation may be centred on the wearers metatarsus, and the biasing force may be adjustable. The grip portion preferably comprises a circular or part circular portion. One of the support and grip portion may comprise a boss, and the other a recess. Preferably the limiting means comprises an abutment with one or more pegs or screws, receivable in apertures in the support. The biasing means may be a spring or a resiliently deformable limb. |
