PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the size of an object is not correctly measured and also a camera operation becomes complicated in photographing when displaying scale on an object display picture concerning a camera in the prior art. SOLUTION: When the reproduction displaying of a photographing image is started (S11), a CPU 4 calculates the size of the object 21 per unit recording pixel of the photographing image in an image sensor 2, based on the half field angleθand photographing distance f' of the object 21 included in photographing information read from a recording medium 17 (S12, S13). Then, the CPU 4 performs processing to convert the calculated size of the object 21 per unit recording pixel of the photographing image into a size per unit display pixel of the photographing image when reproduced on a liquid crystal monitor 7 (S14). Subsequently, when the positions of two optional points of the photographing image to be reproduced and displayed on the liquid crystal monitor 7 are designated by an operation in a cross key, the CPU 4 calculates the size L<SB>AB</SB>of the object 21 in performing photographing between the two designated points (S15, S16).
