412,100. Filters. MULLER, J., 123, Avenue de Lutece Ó la Garenne, Colombes, Seine, France. Nov. 6, 1933, No. 30835. Convention date, Nov. 5, 1932. [Class 46.] Filter elements, each consisting of chamois leather or cloth 32 supported on a plate of perforated metal or metallic cloth and gripped between outer and inner flanges on annular metal members 34, are held in position on a perforated or slotted pipe 39 in an inner casing 11 by a handle 36<1> screwing on a central spindle 36 and bearing against the cover 5 of the casing. The arrangement is such that liquid from an inlet 3 and central tube 4 is distributed by downwardly directed tubes 17 within the casing 1<1>, passes through perforations 38 in the outer flanges of the members 34, upward through the filtering elements 32, into the pipe 39, out through the cover 5 and down the annular space between the casing 1 and an outer casing 1 to an outlet 41. Different forms of elements 34 are shown in the right and left hand halves of the Figure. Separated impurities fall into a lower chamber 18 provided with a float which, when sufficient impurities have collected, lifts a disc 22 to close the lower end of the tube 4.
|
