<p>The present invention is directed to a process for the treatment of a hard surface in order to deliver to said surface antifouling, water sheeting, antisoiling, anti-adhesion, adhesion, and/or anti-deposition properties, or for the providing of a radiation absorbing coating on a surface, comprising the steps of: i) coating on said surface a film of a dispersion or a solution of an aqueous dispersion or solution of hybrid coacervates having a core-shell structure, the core (a) being an inorganic particle being anionic or cationic and the shell (b) being a copolymer wherein said copolymer comprises at least two parts, A and B, part A being cationic if particle (a) is anionic, and anionic if particle (a) is cationic, and part B being neutral in pH conditions of said dispersion or solution, and ii) allowing the water to evaporate. This process can be used to produce a hard surface having antifouling, water sheeting, antisoiling, anti-adhesion, adhesion, and/or anti-deposition properties, or a surface having a radiation absorbing coating.</p> |
