A method and apparatus 10 for the measurement and evaluation of parameters sensed at an infantâ s body. The apparatus includes a sensor part 12 and an indicator part 10. As well as a sensor device (Figure.2, 20) for monitoring the parameters of an infant, the sensor part also comprises a radio interface, a fixing device 14 and a device for evaluating sensor signals and triggering an alarm. The sensor part may be fixed to the infant by either an elastic band 15, an adhesive strip, or by being part of a functional plaster. The sensor device may monitor a plurality of the vital parameters of heart/breathing frequencies, skin temperature and body movement or body position. The indicator part has a radio interface and can at least receive data sent from the sensor part; however the indicator part may request sensor data. As well as the possibility of having a charging station for a battery that the sensor part may have, the indicator part has an alarm indicator device which may be optical and/or acoustic. |
