[Class 29.] Protective guards or grilles are formed by uniting face to face two metal sheets pressed out as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 to provide spaced bars B, E of channel section, the bars of one sheet being placed opposite the spaces of the other, as shown in Fig. 3. The web portion D of one sheet is offset to accommodate the thickness of the other sheet C, as shown in Fig. 5. In another construction webs are provided only at one end of each sheet, as shown in Figs. 6 and 7. The webs and bars are spot welded together.
