A method of treating oil-based paint waste is provided which includes removing at least a portion of the solvent contained in the paint waste and emulsifying the paint waste to form a paint waste residue. The paint waste residue can be combined with varying amounts of water-based paint waste, emulsifiers, a virgin latex polymer, and a plasticizer to form various roofing products including an elastomeric sealer, a primer, and elastomeric caulk. A bedding cement is also provided which includes water-based paint, sand, and an optional plasticizer. The roofing products may be used in combination to form a strong, water-resistant roofing composite overlay for new or existing roof structures. |
