PURPOSE: A laser monitoring system is provided to easily screen a marine vessel, thereby determining whether the vessel has to be selected for inspection or not. CONSTITUTION: A laser and detector mechanism(110) includes a laser source(230) and sensor(250). At least one laser detector mechanism is installed along the draft line(150) or below of the draft line. The laser source projects a laser beam(220) to the vessel(100). The sensor receives the projected laser beam.
