PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a control method thereof are provided to request video data for LTE(Long Term Evolution) in 3G network and to receive video data for the requested LTE in case a portable terminal accesses the LTE network. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication unit(110) receives video data related to video data from a terminal of a third party through a first communication network. A display unit(151) displays the video data. A control unit(180) senses handover from the first communication network to a second communications network. The control unit requests video data for first communication. The control unit controls a display operation of the requested video data.
