PURPOSE: An anti-obesity functional food and pharmaceutical composition containing free and ester type capsanthin is provided to offer anti-adipogenic activity to users. CONSTITUTION: Anti-obesity functional food composition, food material, and pharmaceutical composition contain free and ester type capsanthin marked with chemical formula 1 or a natural ingredient extract containing thereof. R is selected from hydrogen, lauroyl, linolenyl, myristoyl, or palmitoyl. Natural ingredients to produce the natural ingredient extract are selected from pepper, bell pepper, or paprika.
