PURPOSE: A high efficiency surface light source device and a display device including the same are provided to prevent light leakage by totally reflecting most of the light, which is radiated from a light source to a light guide plate, inside the light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A surface light source(100) includes a light guide plate(102) and a light source(104). The light guide plate transforms the radiated light from the light source into a uniform surface light source. The light guide plate is generally composed of a transparent resin. The light source supplies light to the side of the light guide plate. The light source is arranged on one side of the light guide plate. The light source is attached to the side of the light guide plate. The light source can be glued to the side of the light guide plate using a separate adhesive component. The adhesive component is composed of a highly transparent material which does not reduce luminance of the light radiated from the light guide plate. |
