SCANLINE-BASED RENDERING METHOD OF GRAPHICS ACCELERATORS

PURPOSE: A scanline-based rendering method of graphics accelerators is provided to store a color value of all pixels stored in a tile frame buffer in an outer frame buffer, to generate image of all passes per scan line and to reduce the access number of an external memory. CONSTITUTION: A graphic accelerator receives edge data having path identification information. The graphic accelerator stores edge list data including each scan line among the edge data in an edge memory(S100). The graphic accelerator reads edge list data in each scan line. According to generated active edge data which the graphic accelerator generates, the color value of each pixel for a current scan line is generated(S200). The graphic accelerator transmits the color value stored in a tile frame buffer to an external frame buffer. The graphic accelerator generates image for the current scan line(S300).
